Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides this evening may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible from 09:30pm to 10:15pm on 04/04/2026. 
Flooding to roads and low-lying land adjacent the Wye Estuary from Redbrook to Chepstow is expected at the time of high tides, however conditions may apply a few hours either side of the high tides. Predicted peaks at Newport 7.1m to 7.3m and Avonmouth 7.4m to 7.6m around 09:30 pm this evening Saturday 04/04/26. Tomorrow, Sunday, morning tide peaks Newport 6.2m to 6.4m and Avonmouth 6.5m to 6.7m around 09:45am Sunday 05/04/26. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water and avoid using low lying footpaths & any bridges near local watercourses.
