Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels on Thursday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 27 August 2026 from 03:00 as intense (but uncertain) rainfall is forecast.
Up to 40mm of rain could occur, but there is low confidence in location. If as much rain falls as predicted, then flooding could affect Barnham Road, Lake Lane, and a small number of riverside properties in Marshall Close, Barnham. We are not currently expecting the Aldingbourne Rife to flood, but there may be some surface water flooding in the area. Only localised showers are forecast from Thursday afternoon. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce by 08:30AM on 27/08/2026 in Barnham. River levels in Bersted should fall from Friday (28/08/2026).
We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing debris screens through Barnham. Pumps at Felpham are running.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have including in Barnham. Avoid roads that flood (Barnham Road and Lake Lane).
This message will be updated by 11:00AM on 27 August 2026 or as the situation changes.
