Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected to continue. River levels remain high but are beginning to fall on the Bear Brook and tributaries in the Aylesbury area following Storm Alex. Therefore, flooding of property is expected to continue, particularly those affected by the California and Stocklake Brooks. There will still be substantial surface water flooding in the area, which may mean that levels do not reduce as quickly in some areas, such as Stocklake. Any rainfall over the next 12 hours will be light and is not forecast to impact river levels. River levels are now falling, but still pose a flood risk.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are in the area checking defences and clearing weed/trash screens and we continue to liaise with local partners. Please avoid contact with flood water and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 05/10/20, or as the situation changes.
