Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood Alert

Water levels in the Beaulieu River are high. In the last 24 hours more than 30mm of rain has been recorded in Lyndhurst. This afternoon, high tide is forecast at 14:12 and 14:54. Whilst the forecast tide level is not overly high, for 2 hours either side of high water, levels will rise around the upstream side of the Mill Pond. This could cause out of bank flooding and may flood the B3056 road. From 16:00 this afternoon water levels should begin to fall. The weather remains fairly dry for the rest of the day, but some rainfall is forecast again tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection over the high tide period, especially at Hatchet Lane (B3056) where road flooding may occur. Cars driving through any floodwater will increase flood impacts to vulnerable property in this location. This Flood Alert will be updated by 20:00 on 15/01/2020.
