WARNING UPDATE. Flooding is expected in Churchill Barriers. Act now.
The prevailing weather forecast, along with high tides and large waves means that flooding from the sea is expected. Strong south-easterly winds also means that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Churchill Barriers. To find out if the road and causeway are closed, please follow the Orkney Islands Council Twitter feed: https://x.com/OIC_Roads The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which are at 14:15 GMT on Friday 6th February and at 02:30 GMT and 14:45 GMT on Saturday 7th February.
