Wednesday's early morning tide at 01:00 on 10/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 5 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.19 m. The total forecast tide is 6.30 metres Chart Datum (3.25 mAOD) at Littlehampton. While the tide remains higher than normal, it is forecast to be approximately 40cm lower than Monday evening, with smaller waves too. Only minimal flood impacts are expected, with small amounts of spray affecting Marine Drive at Ferring, West and Marine Parade, Worthing, the A259 near Brooklands, and West Beach and Shoreham Beach, Shoreham. Tide levels will continue to fall for the week ahead. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please take care if visiting the sea front at high water. We will re issue this Flood Alert if the risk of property flooding increases.
