Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels overnight may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible when river levels are at their highest from 9:30 PM on 16/10/2024.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Crossens area watercourses, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Low lying land from Ormskirk to Southport including, Banks, Birkdale, Brown Edge, Mere Brow and Scarisbrick.
Further flooding is possible throughout the morning as river levels are high due to heavy rainfall.
We are closely monitoring the situation and checking rivers for blockages.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on 17/10/2024, or as the situation changes.
