Flood alert

Persistent rainfall throughout the morning may lead to flooding.
Areas most at risk include Low lying land from Ormskirk to Southport including, Banks, Birkdale, Brown Edge, Mere Brow and Scarisbrick.
Weather conditions are expected to improve this afternoon and no further flooding is expected.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and checking flood defences.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
This message will be updated by 4:00 PM on 07/06/2025, or as the situation changes.
