Flood warning

River levels are high at the Hamerton river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall yesterday and overnight. Flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected. We expect flooding to affect High Street in Spaldwick, Thrapston Road and Spinney Field in Ellington, and Great North Road in Brampton. Further light rainfall is possible over the next 24 hours which may cause levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please avoid contact with flood water and move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety. Please call 999 if you are in immediate danger. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
