Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides and forecast weather conditions today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible between 12pm and 2pm today, Friday 7 November.
Areas most at risk are within low lying land around Corringham, Tilbury, Grays, Thurrock and Purfleet-on-Thames. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Southend of 3.61 mAODN at 1:00pm today, Friday 7 November, which is 0.32m above tide tables, Wind Force 4, South easterly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.
We are closing flood gates It is possible that the flood alert will be issued again over the weekend.
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
