Tuesday afternoon's tide at 13:00 on 07/12/2021 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Easterly Force 7 winds and moderate waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.51 m. The total forecast tide is 5.43 metres Chart Datum (2.70 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, road and car park flooding will affect Langstone High Street, The Royal Oak and Ship Inn Pub (Langstone), South Street, Queen Street and the A259 junction of Lumley Road. In Emsworth, the promenade may become open harbour. Isolated property flooding is expected. At Bridge Road, the tide may rise to the top of the river bank for a short period of time. At 01:45 on 08/12/2021‚ the tide level remains elevated, but it is unlikely to cause flooding to property. We'll issue further advice. To help protect property, we have installed drop boards at Emsworth Promenade (on the south side of the Mill Pond). If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. We will update this message by 19:00 on 07/12/2021.
