Flooding expected. Take action now.
Following nearly a month’s rainfall over the past week and 20mm Thursday night, river levels are high and rising quickly on the Scrasebridge Stream. Flooding is expected from 07:00 20/12/2019. Locations to be affected will include Bridge Road, including the builders centre, near the Witch Inn and Blackthorns and Meadow Drive. The widespread rain should clear from 09:00 20/12/2019, leaving a largely dry day Friday, apart from isolated showers. Widespread rain will return from 15:00 Saturday 21/12/2019. River levels will continue to rise until 12:00 20/12/2019, but further increases should be expected Saturday evening (21/12/2019) following the next band of rain. If you see a blockage affecting the flow in the river, please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60. We are trying to keep grilles as clear as possible through Lindfield, including the Builders Centre and Witch Inn, to help keep the river flowing freely. We will update this message by 21:00 20/12/2019.
