River levels remain high at the Bedford river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall in the catchment over the last few days. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible today, Monday 1 February. We expect flooding to affect Meadow Lane at Cardington, Water Lane at Renhold, Old Mills Cottage and New Road at Great Barford, Church Street and Ford Lane at Tempsford and Great North Road between Roxton and Tempsford. We expect river levels to remain this high throughout today. Further rainfall is forecast for tomorrow. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Avoid contact with flood water and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Property owners with property level resilience are advised to install it. This message will be updated this afternoon, Monday 1 February, or as the situation changes.
