Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood Alert

Thursday's tide at 00:45 on 12/03/2020, in Shoreham is forecast to be about five centimetres lower than that of Wednesday (6.86 metres Chart Datum, 3.59 mAOD). Flood impacts should be slightly reduced. For 3 hours after high tide (between 00:45 and 03:45 12/3/2020), water levels in the Lower Adur will remain high. At Upper Beeding the river will be close to the top of the river bank. There may be a small amount of water in fields in Bramber, possibly reaching to gardens of riverside properties. The water level will also be very similar from 13:00 Thursday 12/3/2020, but maybe 10cm higher. Flood risk should reduce from the weekend. A separate flood alert is in force for Shoreham Harbour, which details impacts expected there. Avoid walking through flood water at Beeding Bridge as it may conceal hidden hazards. We continue to monitor the forecast. This message will be updated by 09:30 12/03/2020.
