Rising river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on Sunday 25 October .
Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the river Eden and its tributaries from its confluence with the River Irthing through Crosby-on-Eden and Carlisle to the Solway Firth at Rockcliffe. Further showers are expected throughout Sunday 25th October 2026, so levels are expected to remain high through the day. .
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
