River levels have now peaked and continue to fall following last week’s rainfall. Water levels are now below the level expected to cause flooding to low lying land and roads, though standing water and debris may still remain in places. Further periods of rainfall are forecast from this evening, Monday 18 January until Thursday morning, 21 January and we do expect river levels to rise as a result. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will re-issue this Flood Alert if necessary. Please remain aware of your local situation.
