Flood alert

This Flood Alert remains in force for overnight, Tuesday 3 February 2026 into Wednesday 4 February 2026. The Great Stour remains high today following the weekend’s rainfall. There remains an ongoing possibility of flooding to low lying land, paths or roads alongside the Great Stour including in Canterbury City Centre. Levels have temporarily peaked in all locations between Wye and Fordwich. However, further rainfall expected into the evening may cause flooding of later. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00 on 4 February 2026, or as the situation changes.
