Flood alert

This Flood Alert remains in force for today, Monday 2 February 2026. The Great Stour remains high today following the weekend’s rainfall. There remains an ongoing possibility of flooding to low lying land, paths or roads alongside the Great Stour including in Canterbury City Centre. Levels are still rising slightly in all locations between Wye and Fordwich, but will peak during the course of the day. Levels will not be as high as those experienced in the last week of January. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 5:00pm on 2 February 2026, or as the situation changes.
