Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The River Tone level at Currymoor pumping station is 7.25m at the time of writing. Water enters Currymoor via Hookbridge spillway when this is above 7.45m. The drain level at Currymoor pumping station is currently 6.08m and falling. The A361 is open and Athelney spillway is no longer running. New Road and Cutts Road remain closed for now; but please refer to https://www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/emergency-road-closure-gates/ for the latest. And for the latest water levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels. We are pumping at Currymoor, Northmoor and Saltmoor pumping stations, and will continue to do so as water levels allow. Tuesday is forecast to be largely dry and the weather is expected to be more settled until the weekend. We are monitoring the situation closely and checking flood banks, spillways and sluices. Please avoid driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 1pm on 04/03/2026 or as the situation changes.
