Flooding expected. Take action now.
The flood warning for Mill Beck at Welham Road remains in force as both the river Derwent and Mill Beck levels remain high. Additional pumps are in place to help manage river levels on Mill Beck. Flooding of property, roads and farmland remains possible. The area most at risk is around the properties on Welham Road, Norton. Further rainfall is expected throughout Thursday, 28/01/21, and into Friday morning, 29/01/21. Local river levels may rise again in response in the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths, leave space around pumps and around the staff operating them, and do not walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
