At St Johns water levels in the Monktonmead continue to fall. In total 32mm of rain was recorded at Ryde rain gauge over 2 hours between 5:45 and 07:45 although most fell in just 1 hour. For the remainder of today (Monday 2/08/2021) it is possible that some further heavy showers could affect the Isle of Wight, although the likelihood is very low. The forecast for the rest of the week is also predicting heavy showers with Wednesday and Thursday having the highest risk of intense storms. By the nature of such events it is not possible to be precise with location and timings. If more heavy rain does affect the river then we may have to issue further advice.
