Flooding possible. Be prepared.
This message has been issued because some minor flooding to coastal roads and footpaths is likely tonight between 7:00pm and 9:00pm tonight, Saturday 4th October and tomorrow morning, Sunday 5th October between 6:30am and 8:30am Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to Storm Amy. We expect high tide levels at Gorleston-on-Sea and water on towpaths and quaysides throughout Great Yarmouth. The detailed forecast for those that use it is for a peak level at Great Yarmouth of 1.95mAODN at 8pm on Saturday 4th October, which is 1.12m above tide tables, wind Force 7, Westerly. (mAODN is height above average sea level). The following tide sees a peak level at Great Yarmouth of 2.13mAODN at 7:30am on Sunday 5th October which is 1.18m above tide tables, wind Force 7, Westerly. Take care on coastal roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. Our workforce are out checking flood defences. We will update this message by 10:00am tomorrow, Sunday 5th October.
