A flood warning remains in force throughout Friday the 21st. This is due to increased risk at Westward Ho! Which has been caused by increased beach erosion. Other locations receiving this message are below the flood warning threshold meaning that we are not predicting property flooding. Storm Ellen is forecast to bring force 7 south-westerly winds and a flood alert remains in place over the north Devon coast. We are predicting wave overtopping and sea spray in exposed locations. High water at Ilfracombe is at 20:45. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. Times of high water will vary along the coast. People are advised to avoid low lying and exposed coastal areas. We will monitor the situation and will update this information if the situation changes. Detailed tidal information for those who use it, the forecast high tide level at Ilfracombe is 5.31mAOD. This is 0.32 metres above the astronomical tide level.
