Flood warning

Flooding is expected over the high tide on Sunday morning. High water at Ilfracombe is at 05:30am, times of high water will vary along the coast.

Gale force 7 west south-westerly winds and offshore wave heights of around 3.1m are forecast to cause property flooding on Sunday morning.

Large waves and spray are likely so take care near coastal paths and promenades. With the following areas affected Clovelly (Harbour Side), Westward Ho! (shingle ridge area), Watermouth Cove (holiday parks and Harbour area) and Combe Martin (Hotel and Cafe). This may cause localised standing water on roads in these areas. Do not drive through flood water or waves. The tidal gates at Instow, Ilfracombe, Cheyne Beach have been closed.

We will closely monitor and update this information on Sunday afternoon, or if the situation changes. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; The forecast high tide level at Ilfracombe is 5.32 mAOD, this is 0.39 metres above astronomical tide level.
