Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels are forecast to rise quickly as a result of heavy rainfall. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads close to the rivers, particularly along Swalecliffe Brook in Swalecliffe and the West Brook and Plenty Brook in Herne Bay, into Monday morning 26 February.

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue overnight and into Monday morning. We expect river levels to peak on Monday afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation. Be prepared for further flood warnings and consider acting on your flood plan if you have one. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. River levels will remain high until Monday night. This message will be updated by 10pm on Monday 26 February, or as the situation changes.
