Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Heavy rainfall is forecast overnight and into Wednesday morning, 27 November. River levels are expected to rise quickly on Wednesday morning. Flooding is likely to continue until Wednesday evening. Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads along Swalecliffe Brook in Swalecliffe and around Herne Bay. River levels are currently expected to peak later on Wednesday morning.
We are closely monitoring the situation and are checking rivers for blockages. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions and be prepared for further warnings. This message will be updated by 2pm on Wednesday 27 November, or as the situation changes.
