Flooding expected. Take action now.
A very high tide is expected to affect the foreshore. Tides will be at their highest at 2:15am on Monday morning 30/09/19. Flooding to properties and roads is expected on the seaward side of the defences from Greenhithe to Gravesend, particularly those closest to the Gravesend Promenade. Flooding is possible between 12:15am and 4:15am in these locations. The next tide after this at 2:30pm is not currently expected to flood properties, but tides will remain high in the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are ready to respond if required. We have provided sandbags on Royal Pier Road in Gravesend for at risk residents to use as protection. We are liaising with emergency services and our partners. People in the area of concern should take action to protect their property and remain safe. This message will be updated or removed by 9am on 30/09/2019 or as the situation changes.
