Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide expected today, Monday 21 February. This is as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. The tide will be high between the hours of 3pm and 5pm today. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads on the seaward side of the defences from Greenhithe to Gravesend, particularly those closest to the Gravesend Promenade as well as property and roads seaward of the defences in Gravesend. Coastal conditions are expected to improve from 6pm onwards. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking our defences and structures and are prepared to respond when required. Please take action to protect yourself and your property if you believe you are at risk. Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads near the water. For those that use it, the total water level forecast for the 3:45pm tide recorded at Sheerness will be 4.1mAOD. The wind will be a force 6 North Westerly. This message will be updated this evening or as the situation changes.
