Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels are rising as a response to the rainfall overnight and may continue to cause flooding. Flooding is possible on 27th January 2026. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours.

Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Shrewsbury to Church Stretton. Other locations that may be affected include Minsterley, Pontesford and Harrington.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
