Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 8th February 2026.
Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Shrewsbury to Church Stretton. Other locations that may be affected include Minsterley, Pontesford and Harrington. (The floodplain has started to fill adjacent to the Hookagate gauge on the left bank).
We continue to monitor rainfall and river levels. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 9th February 2026 or as the situation changes.
