Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Rising river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the evening of 18 December 2025 from around 6:30PM, and may continue overnight.
Locations most affected will be low lying land, footpaths and roads near to the Salfords Stream, particularly around Salfords. After the heavy rainfall clears this evening, Thursday 18 December 2025, weather conditions are forecast to improve over the next few days and we expect the risk of flooding to reduce over this period.
We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and take care to avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
This message will be updated by 9:00AM on 19 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
