This Flood Alert is in force for the high tide forecast at 1:00am on Sunday 01/10/2023. Areas most at risk include Freckleton Marsh, Riversway Docklands, Lower Penwortham, Hutton Marsh, Longton Marsh, Becconsall Marsh, Much Hoole Marsh, Bretherton Eyes, Croston Finney, Hesketh Out Marsh and Hundred End. With high spring tides, this situation is likely to be repeated for every high tide from now until Monday 02/10/2023. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Please be careful along riverside footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated by 8:00am on 01/10/2023, or as the situation changes.
