The River Aire in the Chapel Haddlesey area remains high due to persistent rainfall. Levels are now falling but will remain high in the Lower Aire catchment through today, Thursday 04/01/24, with washland areas continuing to fill. River levels are expected to steadily fall through the rest of the week. We will continue to closely monitor the forecasts and river levels.
Please put your flood plan into action and take care when near washlands and low-lying land, which could be flooded. Avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses, and do not drive through floodwater.
This message will be updated by 12:00 pm on 04/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
