Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River Levels on the Lower River Aire at Beal and Chapel Haddlesey are falling. The washlands are no longer filling.
Levels will continue to fall through today, Tuesday 7th January and into tomorrow.
As levels continue to drop the washlands will start to empty.
Flooding remains possible. Areas most at risk include River Aire from Ferrybridge to Chapel Haddlesey.
No further significant rainfall is expected over the next couple of days.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.
