Flood warning

This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely this morning, Friday 5th January. River levels are currently high as the river responds to ongoing rainfall. River levels are likely to continue to rise this morning in response to further rain but then fall quickly throughout the day. The forecast is for continued unsettled weather over the next couple of days with further rain showers throughout the week. Take care on riverside footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation closely. We will update this message later today, Friday 5th January.
