Flood warning

This message has been issued because some flooding of homes and businesses is likely, in response to the rain that has fallen overnight and this morning, Sunday 18 February 2024. River levels are expected to remain high in response to the rainfall. Areas most at risk are Lavenham, Brent Eleigh, Monks Eleigh, Chelsworth, Semer, Ash St, Kersey Mill, Hadleigh, Upper Layham, and Shelley, including the A1071 at Hadleigh and the A1141. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. The forecast is for an improving weather picture through this afternoon, but with the chance of the odd light shower pushing through the catchment. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation closely. We will update this message later today, or if the situation changes.
