Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising rapidly on the River Brit due to todays heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brit, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around CW Groves and Sons Nursery and the Skilling Playing fields and Football pitch in Bridport. Flooding of property is possible and further rainfall is forecast. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. This message will be updated by 11:00 AM on 08/12/2023, or as the situation changes.
