Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising rapidly in the River Brit due to tonight's heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brit, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around CW Groves and Sons Nursery and the Skilling Playing fields and Football pitch in Bridport. Flooding of property is possible.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.
Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Consider putting your flood plan into action. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings.
