Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are falling but remain high and flooding is possible overnight Tuesday 27 January. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Brue, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. Areas most at risk include roads in Catsham, Cowbridge and West Lydford and the B3151 Glastonbury to Meare road. Properties on Dyehouse Lane, Glastonbury at risk from the Glastonbury Millstream and overtopping forecast at Baltonsborough. We are expecting less rain for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday however blustery showers are forecast which may be heavy at times. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and Field Teams are checking flood defences. Act on your flood plan if you have one. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 28 January 2026, or as the situation changes.
