Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood Warning

River levels are rising at the Whalley Weir river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible between 14:30 and 19:00 today, 29/09/19. Areas at risk include King Street south of Accrington Road, Princess Street, Queen Street, and in the vicinity of the Abbey, Judge Walmsley Mill, and Hackings Caravan Park.
We expect river levels to remain high until at least 19:00 on 29/09/19.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are clearing weed screens.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
This message will be updated this evening, 29/09/19, or as the situation changes.
