Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

River levels have risen on the River Cam this evening due to heavy rainfall earlier today. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Cam, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the Sparkford to Weston Bampfylde road at Mill Farm and properties at Queen Camel, West Camel, Bridgehampton and Urgashay.

Further rainfall is forecast this evening, but this is expected to clear the area by midnight. River levels are forecast to remain high tonight but will begin falling after the rain moves away. We will continue to monitor levels closely.

Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have, and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

This message will be updated by 4 PM on 05/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
