Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected. River levels are falling on the River Cherwell in Oxford following recent heavy rainfall. Flooding of low lying land, roads and property is expected today, 06/01/2024, especially in the areas closest to the River Cherwell. Areas most at risk are properties on and close to Water Eaton Road. Light rainfall will clear this morning, leaving this evening and overnight mainly dry. We expect levels to continue falling today, but will remain sensitive to further rain. River levels will remain high over the coming days as water moves down the catchment. We are monitoring the situation. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Be aware of flooded roads, do not drive through floodwater. This message will be updated this evening, 06/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
