Flood alert

Rising river levels may lead to flooding on 27 January 2026.

Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today, 27 January 2026, along the River Cole, especially in areas closest to the river between Swindon and the confluence with the Thames. Showers are expected overnight with a predominantly dry day tomorrow. River levels in Swindon are now falling, but levels further downstream, particularly in the Inglesham area, are expected to rise overnight before stabilising through tomorrow morning.

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
