Flooding expected. Take action now.
This message has been issued because there may be some issues with surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions over the next few hours today, Saturday 30 January. River levels are high in response to recent rainfall. Areas most at risk are Halstead, Earls Colne, Chappel, Ford Street and Lexden. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. The forecast is for some heavy rainfall this afternoon but no further significant rain is forecast overnight or tomorrow. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation, and will update this message by 9am tomorrow.
