Flooding is expected overnight tonight and into the early hours of Thursday 21 October. Heavy rain has been falling in the East Devon area which is causing the River Coly to rise. The river is forecast to continue rising till the early hours of Thursday. Properties and low lying areas around the White Hart Inn and Colyvale Caravan Park at Colyford will start to flood first. River levels will be at their highest between 9 pm Wednesday and 2am Thursday. The ford at Farway, upstream of Colyton, may be impassable. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated by Thursday afternoon or if the situation changes.
