Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Matlock river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property and roads is possible to begin between 11:00 and 13:00 today, 10/12/23. Areas most at risk are Amber gate, including the Hurt Arms Public House, the A6, the Post Office, and Derby Road.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Sunday 10/12/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area.
Please avoid contact with flood water and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.
This message will be updated by 17:00 this afternoon, 10/12/23, or as the situation changes.
