Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

River levels are high at the Matlock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Levels are expected to fall during today, however, levels are expected to rise again this evening, 02/01/24. Flooding continues. Areas most at risk are Darley Dale, including Stankirk, Flatts Farm, the Square, at Compass Public House, and the B5057 between Darley Bridge, and Two Dales Road.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 18:00 this evening 02/01/24, or as the situation changes.
