River Derwent at Darley Dale

Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

River levels are rising at the Matlock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding continues. Areas most at risk are Darley Dale, including Stankirk, Flatts Farm, the Square, at Compass Public House, and the B5057 between Darley Bridge, and Two Dales Road.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to rise until tomorrow morning, 03/01/24.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 08:00 tomorrow morning, 03/01/24, or as the situation changes.
