Flood Warning

River levels have continued to fall on the River Don, however standing water in the area may remain for the next few days and we expect this to continue to impact properties and access routes.

A band of rain is moving across South Yorkshire today (14/11/2019), which will be followed by showers into tomorrow. Given the wet ground conditions, we expect rivers to respond throughout today and overnight. The River Don is forecast to peak at Doncaster between 06:00-09:00am tomorrow (15/11/2019), but levels are not currently expected to reach the levels seen last week. We have deployed pumps, people and equipment to reduce levels in the worst affected areas, and increase the capacity of our washlands. As a precaution, Doncaster Council have asked the military to sandbag areas affected by flooding last week, in order to provide additional protection.

This message will be updated by 20:00pm on 14/11/2019 or as the situation changes. Doncaster Council hotline 01302 735 688.
