Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Pinxton river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding could occur from approximately 17:30 this evening, 14/11/2019. Areas most at risk are Langley Mill, and Shipley Gate, including Derby Road, and Cromford Road.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until early tomorrow morning, 15/11/2019. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water. This message will be updated this evening, 14/11/2019, or as the situation changes.
